The Voyage Home

Research tells us that sea turtles often return to their birth place to lay their eggs.  Some say they follow Earth’s magnetic field in a very scientific fashion, but a small part of me wonders if they simply return to the place they feel safe and comfortable–home.

On my Artist’s Journey, ‘home’ is a pencil and paper.  A Graphite Girl at heart, I often return to my pencils when I feel frustrated while working in color.

As I say goodbye to February, I wanted to celebrate the final Throwback Thursday of the month with a graphite piece.  It is a reminder that when I’m feeling lost, I just have to pick up a pad and pencil to find my way back home.
